Community Pride Day & Poker Run

The Fort Bragg Rotary Club and Mendocino Coast Sports Foundation will be co-sponsoring the Mendocino Coast Community Pride Day and Poker Run on June 28, 2008. The purpose of this event is to call attention to the many non-profit clubs and organizations in the area that do such a great job, as well as showcase five sources of community pride. The poker run (and you don't have to run, you can also walk, drive, bicycle, motorcycle or any other way you want to get from station to station) will cost $30 and that includes a BBQ at Timberwolf Stadium.

For those who have never participated in a poker run here is how it functions: You enter the poker run by paying $30 (the first 200 entrants also receive a free T-shirt) and going to the five stations and drawing a card at each station. The stations are: the Fort Bragg Fire House; Guest House Museum; Cotton Auditorium; the Aquatic Center and Timberwolf Stadium. While at each station the entrants will have the option of getting a free tour of the building and see the reason for community pride.

The poker run will end at Timberwolf Stadium where all of the non-profits in the community will have a table to explain what they do. The entrant with the best poker hand (you will have the option to purchase up to 3 additional cards to try and better your hand) will win the first prize and the second best hand 2nd prize and so on.

All proceeds will be split between the Fort Bragg Rotary Club and the Mendocino Coast Sports Foundation and will go to community projects. Here is your chance to have some fun, maybe win a prize, tour some great community venues and get to know the community while helping two worthwhile organizations raise money! The Date is June 28 and the time for the poker run is from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM with the BBQ from Noon to 3:00 PM. Come and enjoy the day on the beautiful Mendocino Coast .
